Internships and Practicums

MERC accepts a few limited volunteers each year to work on projects such as:

• Contributing to research to support land rights claims
• Teaching at local schools
• Conducting collaborative research on water usage and need
• Illustrating books on Maasai culture and language
• Creating plant and wildlife guidebooks for use by Mara Guides Association
• Creating markets for Maasai women’s cooperatives

Interns pay to board at the Dopoi Center on a sliding scale based on the ability of the student to pay and value of their project to community priorities.
