Situated among Maasai villages.

Immersion does not mean unlimited access to the community, as the Dopoi Center is located in the middle of what might appear to be a wilderness but is in fact a communally managed landscape. We live at the center but respect the rights of the community to co-create our relationship.

Maa language and culture classes by the fire. We participate in community celebrations and rituals that are held at the center. Students learn about herding and village life at times when that is appropriate and welcome in the community.
