Evy McDonald was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Since the age of 21 she has lived in Iowa, Arizona, Colorado, California, Washington and New York. God has graced her life with many opportunities as she has been a nurse, writer, cofounder of a nonprofit organization, motivational speaker, social justice activist, researcher and an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church. In the 80’s she graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master in Nursing. Her Master of Divinity was earned at Union Theological Seminary in New York and she received her Doctor in Ministry degree from Drew University in Madison, NJ. Evy has worked with the Indigenous peoples of Bolivia co creating safe environments to prevent chagas disease. While being in ministry in Newburgh, NY, she was the first female president of the Greater Newburgh Ministerial Association (an interfaith organization), vice-president of Project L.I.F.E. which provides transitional housing for homeless families, and cofounder of Abraham’s Table, an organization to feed children in the summer. She is the author of Living as a Covenant Community, a contributor to Simpler Living Compassionate Life, and has written numerous articles in the areas of health and spirituality.
