Ndoinyo Oloip Water Project

The Ndoinyo Oloip water project was completed in August 2019, and it serves a community spanning several miles and over 5000 people on community land near the Talek gate to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

The project was designed by cluster committees who negotiated the location of distributions points through a process that took two years, and considers the needs of village groups, women’s cooperatives, schools, herders passing through, and of the wildlife for whom the troughs are filled at night.

In July, 2019 MERC and students and faculty of Prescott College and ASU walked the length of the water project and were welcomed and educated by the community.
