Maasai are applying our historical knowledge to the development of Maasailand. We want our children to become educated in the best of what Western education has to offer while still developing their knowledge of Maasai culture, language, and sciences. We want to continue pastoralism in ways that adapt to changing circumstances, and expand our economy to include management of wildlife conservation and tourism which takes place on our land and which keep the land from becoming privatized. We want access to clean water and to use it sustainably to enable life for people, cattle, wildlife and forests while regenerating the source. We want to practice our traditional medicine and have access also to Western health care. Our vision is practical and achievable and we welcome partners in this community driven approach to development.
